FiT Work #6 - Stress

Due: Wednesday, December 4th

Stress is the body's reaction to a demanding situation.  Not all stress is considered harmful and scientists use the term "eustress" to describe positive or good stress like riding a roller coaster or meeting a new friend. Conversely, the term "distress" is used to describe negative or bad stress caused by unpleasant experiences or things that make you worry, nervous, or depressed. You need a balance of both in your life but 21st century living can cause too much distress and result in what is commonly called burnout.

However, you can do a lot to manage the stress in your life. Stress relief can come from such things as exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, eating healthy, talking with a family member or mentor about your stress, having a hobby, meditating, deep breathing, or resting in a quiet place.
