A Few Changes

Hi all! Things are moving and changing rapidly these days! Since I sent out my contact letter yesterday evening, a few things have changed. I have highlighted the changes below.

*****If you have not joined my Google Classroom yet, please do so ASAP. All assignments will be posted there. Your period's distinct code can be found in the letter emailed via Parent Square. *******

Hello Students and Parents-

During this period of distance learning, your physical education classes will be conducted online, just as your other classes. Our classes will follow the format below.

  • Each day a workout video will be posted to our Google Classroom. You are expected to access and complete this workout daily.
  • After the workout, you will need to complete your daily learning log, where you will reflect on the workout and provide evidence that you did the workout.
  • FiT Works will be posted and required as homework as normal. The first will be assigned Monday, March 23 and will be due Friday, March 27th.

I will be checking weekly that you have accessed the week’s workouts and completed your learning log. If you have not completed any you will be marked absent for that week.

If you have a question about a specific assignment, it is best to send me a private comment through the assignment on google classroom so that I can provide you with the best answer.

Academic Integrity
It is vital during this time that we all remember and practice academic integrity. We have to trust that you are, in fact, doing the work that we have assigned. We expect you not to violate that trust.
We are asking you to provide a picture of yourself doing each day’s workout. We are trusting that the entire workout will, in fact, be completed.

If you are sick and/or injured and cannot complete a workout, you will need a parent/guardian excuse note, just as you would normally. Parent notes will need to be completed on the official Russell Parent Excuse Form, which can be found here. Please either scan the completed form or take a picture of it and email it to me. If you can find an alternative activity or work out, such as flexibility stretching or yoga, that you can do to accommodate your specific injury or illness that is great.  The idea is to keep you as active as possible as you are sheltered in and away from school.

Office Hours
As always, if you have a question for me, you are welcome to email me. I will be replying to emails daily. However, if you feel you need to have a one on one conversation, I will be available to google chat on Friday mornings from 9 to 11.
