Fit Work #10 - Warm Up & Stretching

Due Thursday, April 9!!

Tempted to skip your warm up? DON'T! Your warm up is an important part of your exercise routine. Did you know that warming up helps your body prepare itself for exercise both mentally and physically? It may also decrease your chance of injury, as well as reduce the aches and pains that come with exercise. It is one of the most important elements of an exercise program.

Adding stretches to your warm up may improve your exercise performance. Once your muscles are warm (from an easy jog for example), spend a few minutes on stretching. Since the goal of your warm up is to increase your heart rate and get ready for more intense work, choose stretches that can be done standing up. Delay most sitting stretches until your cool down segment.

For FiT Work #10 you will need to review all of the following articles and videos related to warming up, then answer questions based on your reading.
